Dr. Amy Comander joins After Hours to discuss her passion for marathon running.
A recent ‘Narratives in Oncology’ article written for The Oncologist journal details the experience of oncologist and marathon runner Amy Comander, MD, of the Mass General Cancer Center in Waltham and Harvard Medical School, who was supposed to run in the 124th Boston Marathon, an event that, like most in 2020, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In her narrative, Comander discusses gratitude and resilience in time of uncertainty and how the running community has helped her remember to keep her head up.
